Doblin Descrimination Matrix

This project was about showing different items and their values based on different criteria. What worked well in this project was finding a topic and picking different items. The most challenging thing about doing this project was setting up the lay out to get everything right. Next time, i might pick a harder topic to try and challenge myself. To create this i used illustrator. I can use this in the future to think about a products value.

Band Poster

This project is about designing and creating a poster for a band gig. What worked well was making modifications to each poster, making the posters better each time. The most challenging thing about creating the posters was coming up with an idea of what band to do and creating a look for that poster. Next time i will brainstorm more to come up with more complex ideas. I just used simple tools to create the gradient and the road in the middle. I can use this is in the future for many different things. For example, if you wanted to make a poster for something, you could and easily with illustrator.

This project was about showing how advertisement can be misleading to get you to buy the product. What worked well was using photo shop to explain why this ad is flawed. What was most challenging was re creating the image. Next time i will try to re create the ad in another way. I used photo shop to out text onto the picture and create another. I can use these skills in the future because learning how to use photo shop can be useful in many different ways

A5: unit reflection

Advertisements can appear in a number of different ways. From, print to digital. You can see advertisements basically anywhere. They appear in magazines, online, on the side of the road, and in commercials just to name a few. Ads are everywhere!
The whole point of an advertisement is to persuade someone to act in a certain way, look a certain way, or buy a certain product. In my opinion an image can definitely persuade someone to act. If an image did not do this people would not continue to create advertisements. Consumers like you and I buy into advertisements because the images portrayed in them are appealing and we want what the producer is offering.
Advertisements should be regulated by the government. People have a right to say what ever that would like to say, within moderation. Certain advertisements can deeply offend some that view it and this should not be shown where everyone can see it. I think that advertisements can be very racy and controversial.

This project is about me, it is a self portrait of everything I like. Using google images worked very well to find pictures that worked for what I take a liking to. The most challenging aspect while doing this project was learning how to use photo shop for the first time. Next time I do this project I would want to try and use different tools on photo shop to get a more precise cut out of my photos that I chose. The main tool that I used on photo shop was the magnetic lasso tool, this tool was the easiest to use to cut out irregular shapes. The main tools I used to create this portrait were photo shop and google images. Through this project I have learned how to use photo shop, so in the future I will be able to use photo shop to create more advanced projects.
